Nearly all of our members got their start on this issue through Citizens Climate Lobby, a climate-based bipartisan organization focused on promoting climate solutions in Congress. CCL encourages members to speak with their local representatives by calling, emailing or scheduling meetings to advocate for modern climate issues, and they also hold national conferences, create specific Action Teams and hold Climate Advocate Training programs for new members.
With the support of our local chapter, we found our sense of community and were able to connect with other like-minded individuals who looked to advocate for climate change. Eventually, this led to the creation of Reform and Sustain, and we would not have the outreach we hold as an organization without them. We continue to partner with CCL by collaborating on events with our local chapters and creating relationships with other climate-based organizations started through CCL.
